The past couple of months, Cher mentioned Madonna quite a few times on Twitter and during promo interviews for her latest album/single.
Here’s what she recently had to say during an Ask me Anything on Reddit…
AMA: Do you still hate Madonna?
Cher: Madge, no. Actually I don’t. I never hated her, I just thought she was a bitch. Actually I quite respect her.
Actually I think Madge might be one of the most amazing artists I’ve known. I don’t like everything she does, for sure, but she is always riding the crest of the wave. She always saw trends WAY before anyone else, and had great videos.
So, besides saying “WTF is MDNA”, I’m fine with it.

Maclean’s: Sade once told me she felt Lady Gaga was more authentic than Madonna ever was.
Cher: Madonna was authentic for her time. People like Madonna and me paved the way for the women who came after us.
