While we were working on our list of the 100 best singles of 1984, Boy George popped by the Rolling Stone offices and offered his thoughts on a few of our selections.

Here’s what he had to say about Madonna…

I remember going to see her. It must have been around that time at Radio City Music Hall. I went to one of those really early tours.
Who knew what she was gonna become.
I don’t think you could have ever imagined how formidable she was gonna be.
You were just “Oh she won’t last”… you just didn’t get it.
It was just phenomenal.
